Hyderabad: A 16-year-old scheduled caste girl was allegedly raped by her colleague in a car near an old-age home in L B Nagar area here, police said today.
“The accused, identified as Ganesh, allegedly raped the girl last night in a (parked) car near the old-age home after which two others also attempted to molest her,” L B Nagar Police Station Inspector P Kasi Reddy said quoting a complaint lodged by the Child Welfare Committee.
Ganesh has been arrested while the hunt is on to nab two others. However, the duo are not employees of the old-age home.
The girl was rescued, and following the complaint a case on charges of rape and other provisions of IPC besides under SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and POCSO Act was registered.
