Hyderabad: Water logging damages roads, bothers traffic

Hyderabad: Due to rains, roads have been partially submerged in water across the city. Causing damage to the roads as well as to the smooth flow of the traffic.

As per Indian Meteorological Department officials, Hyderabad recorded an overall rainfall of 23.9mm. The weather would remain cloudy with similar spells of rains for the next two days, a report from Telangana Today says.

The condition of the Erragadda-Panjagutta road, which was already damaged, has worsened after the rains, with waterlogging being reported at several spots. The asphalt layers are being scraped off.
There is an outflow of water from the potholes also in many locations. “Roads on the Metro corridors too are yet to be restored completely. Several bus-stops on these stretches are waterlogged, making life miserable for pedestrians and commuters alike,” said an office-goer.

“The road width has shrunk due to water stagnation at several points and you never know whether there is a pothole or an open manhole or drainage. I don’t dare to enter the waterlogged roads while driving,” said Anand Vemavarapu, another office-goer on Monday.
