Impact of Siasat news: no Vande Mataram recite ‘Saare Jahan Se Achcha…’ TMREIS

Hyderabad: Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) has directed principals of Minority Residential Schools not to make the recitation of Vande Mataram compulsory for students; instead recite the national song ‘Saare Jahan Se Achcha’ during the assembly.

It must be recalled that Siasat Daily had revealed complaints regarding Muslim students forced to recite Vande Mataram by the principals and teachers, following which Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) sprung into action. High officials of the society sought report from the districts which revealed that complaints were received regarding forcing students to recite Vande Mataram at Minority Residents Schools. There are a few non-minority principals and teachers in the above said schools who are stealthily trying to thrust upon saffron culture over Muslim students.

The society has issued written notice releasing the beginning schedule of the schools. According to the orders, schools will begin at 9 o’clock with Iqbal’s tarana ‘Saare Jahan Se Achcha Hindustan Hamara…’ followed by Telangana Song ‘Jai Jai Telangana’ while the National Anthem Jana Gana Mana will be recited after Principal’s speech.

Meanwhile students and parents have complained that it is being tried to stealthily introduce a particular culture in the schools and Muslim students are forced to join it. Government had announced to include Deeniyat as a subject but has not implemented it so far.
