Intelligence Agencies issued terror alert in Delhi and Mumbai, borders of Punjab and Rajasthan

New Delhi: Intelligence agencies have issued an alert in borders of Punjab and Rajasthan including Delhi and Mumbai about a possible terror strike by Lakshar-e-taiba terrorist group in India.

Around 20-21 Lakshar-e-taiba operatives have entered India illegally from Pakistan and have split into small groups said the Intelligence Agencies.

These Pakistani infiltrators have been well trained by the Pakistan’s Inter-services Intelligence said the Intelligence sources.

Police have issued advisory to take anti-terror measures and strictly monitor Metros, Railway stations, Airports, hotels popular among tourists, crowded markets, religious places and stadiums in Delhi, said the advisory.

According to the alert issued, these Pakistani infiltrators plan to make a “spectacular terrorist incident” to attract media attention.

Following an earlier warning in May by a top US intelligence official about Pakistan-based terrorist groups planning terror attacks in India, also asserted that Islamabad failed to control terrorists. Intelligence suspects these terrorists may plant suicide bombers to carry out a medium intensity blast in mostly crowded places. Police in these states has been alerted about the possible terror strikes by these groups directing them to beef-up the security and also take proper measures ensuring safety as reported in Times of India.
