Hyderabad: First Addl. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Nampally Criminal Court sentenced three years imprisonments to four former members of Nizam club and former President and Secretary were fined to the extent of Rs. 500.
In 2001, Mr. Hanumanth Reddy, a member of Nizam Club had made a complaint that the then President of the Club, Mr. E.Aravind Rao, the Secretary, Mr. M.A. Samad, E. Vidya Reddy and V. Radha and others indulged in irregularities in granting membership to hundreds of persons based on fake details and huge amounts were collected as bribes.
Saifabad Police Station had registered a case on the complaint made by Mr. Hanumanth Reddy. The police registered a case under sections 420 (cheating), 120 (B) (Criminal Conspiracy), 465 (Fake information) and 471 of IPC. A charge sheet was also filed against the above mentioned members. After 16-years of filing the case, Nampally Criminal Court fined Mr. Arvind Rao and Mr. M.A. Samad to the extent of Rs. 500. Mr. Vidya Reddy and Ms. Radha were sentenced to 3 years imprisonment.
It may be mentioned that earlier, many complaints of irregularities were received about membership of Nizam Club and in 2015 complaints were made against some of the members of the club.
