Stating that he will take up fast unto death hunger strike from August 10 onwards in Sangareddy protesting against the TRS government attitude towards the farmers of villages to be submerged in Mallannasagar project, the Congress leader Toorpu Jagga Reddy alleged that the TRS government detained affected farmers of Mallannasagar project similar to Seethamma in Lanka.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Jagga Reddy alleged that the government was threatening the farmers from the villages to be submerged in Mallannasagar project. The government behaving arrogantly and appealed in High Court though the Court dismissed the G.O.No.123. He demanded the government to abolish the G.O.No.123 following the Court direction. He demanded the state government to acquire the land implementing the Land Acquisition Act-2013. He asked the government to construct the projects but not at the cost of farmers. (NSS)
