New Delhi: Taking pot shots at Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Congress leader Tom Vadakkan on Friday said that the economy is in shambles and advised the former to focus on his ministry.
Criticising the BJP-led Government, Vaddakan said, “The economy is in shambles. Issues are not being addressed. Prices are shooting up. International prices of petrol have come to the lowest but nothing is passed on to the common man.
GDP has sunk and this is happening when industrial production, agricultural production are at the lowest. Sensex has seen blood in the streets.”
“Then you have a situation where production is down, there is nothing to look forward in the economy. The RBI governor has given a position that there are lots of things. What kind of situation is prevailing in this country? Action needs to be taken.
The finance minister must focus on his ministry. The Prime Minister and the Finance Minister must act in the interest of this country and ensure that the economy comes back to shape, because today it is in a very bad situation,” he added.
