Jat unrest: Efforts underway to remove blockades in Haryana

Rohtak: With the ongoing Jat agitation in Haryana see-sawing and entering its tenth day today, several blockades have been lifted up and efforts are underway to remove the remaining several blockades on roads and routes.

A total of 19 people have lost their lives and around 183 injured in the agitation so far. Haryana government has announced full compensation for damage caused to private properties as well as ex-gratia of 10 lakh rupees to the kin of those killed in the agitation for reservation.

The state government also decided to immediately assess the role of all officers and officials of both civil and police administration for any act of omission and commission during the agitation.

The decisions to this effect were taken in a meeting of the state cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar yesterday.

Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has been called to the national capital today for deliberations to ascertain state’s views on the current Jat unrest. (ANI)
