Kalwakurthy MLA offers to resign over revenue division demand

Congress senior leader C. Vamshi Chandra Reddy on Saturday offerred to resign from the post of Kalwakurthy MLA to press for creation of Kalwakurthy Revenue Division.

Addressing a press conference here, Vamshi Chandra said if his continuance as MLA was a hindrance in TRS Government giving Revenue Division status to Kalwakurthy, then he was ready to quit the post. He also announced that he would not re-contest the by-elections and would support the TRS candidate if State Government creates Kalwakurthy Revenue Division. 

Vamshi Chandra informed that a Joint Action Committee, comprising representatives of all political parties, has been leading a movement for creation of Revenue Division. While Sadanand Goud is JAC Convener, TRS leader and ex-MLA Jaipal Yadav, BJP leader T. Acharya and representatives of Left Parties and MIM are the other members. He said he was ready to resign from the MLA’s post if TRS Government gives an assurance that Kalwakurthy will be upgraded into a Revenue Division. (INN)
