Karisma files dowry harassment case against Sanjay Kapur

New Delhi : The on-going divorce case of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor and her estranged husband Sanjay Kapur just took an uglier turn, with the actress filing a dowry harassment case against him and his mother Rani Sunder Kapur.

According to a leading daily, Khar police have registered an FIR filed by Karisma, wherein she accuses the Kapurs of mental cruelty and harassment.

The duo had initially filed for divorce on the grounds of mutual consent, but Karisma withdrew her consent, stating that Sanjay had failed to meet certain financial commitments established in the consent terms.

On the other hand, Sanjay claimed that Karisma married him for his money and failed as a wife, mother and daughter-in-law. He also filed an application at the Supreme Court, seeking a transfer of the case to New Delhi on the grounds of threat to his life from underworld don Ravi Pujara.

The next hearing has been scheduled for March 3. (ANI)
