Kashmir gears up for fresh spell of rain, snow

Srinagar,: Kashmir is set to witness another spell of rain and snow from Thursday evening as the State weather department has said that a fresh Western Disturbance is approaching the state and the Meterological Department has predicted scattered light to moderate rain and snow.

Snow will be mostly experienced in higher reaches and rainfall is likely to increase significantly both in terms of intensity and spread by Saturday with fairly widespread rain and snow along with isolated heavy spells to continue over the state till Sunday.

Divisional Administration has issued avalanche warning for people residing in higher reaches of Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Kupwara, Gurez, Bandipora, Baramulla and other avalanche-prone areas in Kashmir region.

The weather along national highway is reported cold and the sky cloudy. The travellers have been advised to follow the guidelines issued by the traffic control units of state government to avoid inconvenience and possible hassles. (ANI)
