KCR move for 12% quota to Muslims will hit BCs: BJP

G Kishan Reddy, BJP floor leader in Telangana Assembly, today observed that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s efforts for securing 12 per cent reservation to Muslims in spite of the fact that religion-based reservation was totally against the spirit of the country’s Constitution.

Speaking to the media here, Kishan Reddy, reminded that the High Court had rejected the attempts of the previous YSR government when it tried to provide four per cent reservation to the Muslim community. But now, KCR was dreaming of fetching 12 per cent reservation to the Muslims, he alleged and said such a decision would do gross injustice to the BCs in the State. He also accused KCR of running his government against the decision of Constitution architect Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
