Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has proposed to install country’s tallest statue of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar in Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone for Dr. Ambedkar’s 125-feet statue in the city on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary on April 14. Presently, the 58-feet statue of Gautam Buddha, installed in Hussain Sagar, is the tallest statue of Hyderabad. The Chief Minister on Friday held a review meeting to discuss the possible location and other arrangements. KCR wants the construction of statue to be completed within one year. It has also been decided to construct Ambedkar Square in the city. (INN)
