KCR smiles at copious rainfall across State


Expressing content over the good rainfall, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said that Mission Kakatiya program proved handy for restoring lakes, water bodies and ponds.

Addressing the media conference at Karimnagar Collectorate after conducting an aerial survey of Mid Maneru Dam in Karmnagar district, the Chief Minister exhorted the farmers to make use of the waters for more crops. He also asked the district administration of Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts to be alert as Godavari deluge is to hit their districts. He ordered cancellation of works of Mid Manair, which was destroyed at 130 km stretch and offer the same to other noted agency for quality and standards. “Previous governments neglected the projects. Land acquisition works for the projects should be speeded up as better compensation is being offered through GO 123 and take up the works. The State government was spending Rs 25,000 crore for the projects every year and will irrigate one crore acres, he added.

Directing the officials to maintain standards in works related to Kaleshwaram project relying on Mid Manair,KCR asked for alert at Ramannagudem in Warangal, Bhadrachalam in Khammam districts. About 12000 people were evacuated from about 11 villages and the eligible people will be provided with land and double bedroom houses as per norms.

KCR asked the officials to take steps to reach LMD water to Khammam and Nalgonda districts and officials should coordinate with Karnataka officials for Singur outflow and Maharashtra governments for the information over the floods and outflows and take necessary measures.The Chief Minister asked the officials to give priority to protect human lives and cattle from the floods and heavy rains and provide help to those marooned. Housing facility will be provided to those who suffered loss in the floods, he added. (NSS)
