New Delhi: As Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal hit on a poll campaign trail in Punjab on Thursday, Delhi BJP alleged the city has been pushed into an “administrative crisis” by his party and charged the AAP chief of “misleading” the people of that state.
“Delhi BJP will ensure that people of Punjab will expose Kejriwal on his misdeeds in every nook and corner of Punjab,” city BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said.
Battling dissidence and allegations of sleaze and corruption against his MLAs, the AAP convener on Thursday arrived in Punjab to give a fresh push to AAP’s assembly poll campaign amid heckling by rivals and voiced apprehension about more muck being thrown at the party in the run up to the elections.
“Delhi has been pushed into an administrative crisis and it is very regrettable that Chief Minister Kejriwal who has created this crisis is now trying to mislead the people of Punjab,” Upadhyay was quoted as saying in a statement issued by Delhi BJP.
Upadhyay, Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta, MP Meenakshi Lekhi, and few other BJP leaders addressed a press conference at Delhi BJP unit office on Thursday.
Gupta also hit out at Kejriwal on the parliamentary secretaries appointment issue saying, they were “provided with all the facilities like the ministers.”
In a fresh jolt to the Kejriwal government, Delhi High Court set aside its order appointing 21 AAP MLAs as parliamentary secretaries on the ground that it was issued without the concurrence of the Lieutenant Governor.
Gupta said tomorrow the BJP will compel the government to give its statement on the judgement of the Delhi High court, we will “not allow the assembly to function” till the government gives its statement and the 21 MLAs resign from the Assembly themselves.
He said “BJP Delhi leaders will soon meet the Election Commissioners and handover the copy of the judgement of the court and request the Election Commission to pronounce its judgement in the case of disqualification of the 21 Parliamentary Secretaries.”
Lekhi alleged that “this is not the first occasion in Delhi, even during the Sheila Dikshit tenure such controversy has arisen but at that time the government did not cross all the constitutional limits and even admitted that, but the shamelessness of Kejriwal government is beyond one’s imagination.”
