KOCHI: A popular Malayalam film actress was allegedly abducted in Kerala’s Kochi town and molested and clicked by a gang reportedly to blackmail her.
The gang held the actress hostage for two hours and clicked the semi-nude pictures. They also shoot the video to blackmail her and wangle huge sums of money.
According to Telegraph reports, police sources said that the plot was hatched about a month ago adding the actress driver Martin taken into custody had confessed to being part of the plot.
Martin told investigators that the prime accused, Sunil Kumar had offered him half of the Rs 30 lakh.
Kerala Police said they have arrested three persons and hunt is still on for the mastermind Kumar and three of his accomplices that are absconding.
The 30-year-old actress on Friday night after a shoot was on way from Thrissur to Kochi to take part in the dubbing of her new film directed by director-cum-actor Lal.
While on way, the actress’s Audi with a pick-up van, Tempo Traveller, following which an argument erupted over the accident. The passengers of the other car forcefully entered her car and drove off with the actress.
“If this is the plight of a celebrity, what can one say about ordinary people? This is really shocking,” said Ramesh Chennithala, a former state Home Minister.
