Kids India to unveil latest trends at Mumbai fair next month

Mumbai [India]: The fourth edition of Kids India, India’s largest B2B platform for products related to Children, is all set to showcase the latest trends for toys and children’s products at the three day B2B exhibition to be held from September 15 to September 17 at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“The fair which has the presence of the most important national and international brands will have the newer generation Toys that are not only aesthetically appealing but also actively motivate children to train the brain, to learn, to evolve their cognitive skills without finger wagging or having to do boring tasks”, says Katharina Janotta, Managing Director, Spielwarenmesse India Pvt. Toys should be a source of joy for the kids yet at the same time be meaningful. They should challenge children and motivate them, but most definitely not bore them or even discourage them. Design is becoming increasingly important and the toy manufacturers are getting inspired by art world and designers from other industries that give colour and design completely new twists. Also, today’s smarter generation wants their toys should be up- to- date, therefore the toy designers are not only looking at the aesthetic appeal but at the same time are also focussing on trends in other businesses like electronics and automobile.

Another important trend which is seen are the toys that allow kids to explore their own interests while encouraging them to believe in themselves and their dreams for eg., products that assist them to accomplish things just like Professional cooks, builders, designers, programmers, scientists, etc. Sometimes these toys also encourage them to take it a step further by guiding them into becoming “Kidpreneurs”. At the upcoming Kids India, eminent speakers will provide a valuable insight into the future trends and technologies from the children’s products industry in India and around the globe.

Today, design in toys go beyond the aesthetics and are able to define the concept of product which is going to be employed by a child with the aim to play, which means to imagine, to interpret reality, to define rules and to develop skills. And this trend will continue to grow in the years to come.

Kids India, through its high quality seminar and workshop programme, serves as a platform for the industry to discuss important topics. There will be an interactive panel discussion on the topic of licensing – what it does for brands and how it helps retailers. Besides a panel of experts including manufacturers and retailers will throw light on the development of toy safety standards in India. Another upcoming topic is 3-D printing technology which offers a great deal of design flexibility and creativity for the toy industry. A panel of experts will share their knowledge and experience on this subject accompanied by a live demonstration of 3-D printing. Besides the International Play Association will organize a panel discussion on the significance of play and how it helps the overall development of a child. This topic is also being promoted through an awareness campaign called ‘Value of Play’ which was launched by Spielwarenmesse India with the objective of promoting play.
