Each kite has a Picture, Name and a one line accomplishment of the freedom fighter. For instance, “Quit India” slogan was given by Yusuf Jafar Mehar Ali; The man who created slogan “Jai Hind” was Syed Abid Hasan Safrani and freedom fighter who created slogan “Inquilab Zindabad” was Moulana Hasrat Mohani. Information on another kite says that it was Begum Hazrath Mahal, the queen mother who wiped out British troops from Lucknow.

According to Khalid Saifullah, who also developed an App “Muslim Freedom Fighters”, three thousand kites have been made on this theme and they will be distributed at free of cost. Today 100 kites were distributed in Jasarath High School in Shali Banda.

“Since hundreds of youth, especially in the Old City, enjoy flying kites as part of Sankranti festival, we decided to distribute free kites while educating the younger generation about the role of Muslims in India’s freedom struggle,” he said.
