KTR meets Venkaiah for TS development


Hyderabad: Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister,  KT Rama Rao today urged the Centre to devolve funds to the state for various projects of development in the state and Hyderabad city which needs infrastructure of world class standards.

As part of his two-day Delhi tour, KTR on Wednesday met Union Urban Development Minister, M Venkaiah Naidu and sought this support for rapid growth of the youngest state of India. According to informed sources, he sought Venkaiah Naidu to offer a financial assistance of Rs 785 cr for Pharma City proposed in Muchcherla village near Hyderabad and also Rs 930 cr under NRP scheme. Later he told media persons in Delhi that he sought the support of the union minister for pushing various development projects including Pharma City to be constructed on world standards avoiding pollution, better infrastructure in Hyderabad including skywalks, level separators, drainage, roads and others. We are also seeking Rs 75,000 cr from Brics Bank for taking up urban development projects under Urban Development wing he added. Venkaiah gave positive response and promised to talk to the concerned officials on the wish-list he said. The union minister said that he will invite me for another round of meeting to work out on the wish-list he submitted, he said. We expect that the Union Government extends all needed financial assistance for our projects, KTR maintained. He also met Union Textiles Minister Smrithi Irani and urged her to release funds for setting up a textile cluster in Telangana and help for workers of powerlooms and handlooms.

Kalraj Mishra pats KTR

Union Minister for Medium and Small Scale industries Kalraj Mishra today gave a pat to KTR by calling him a dynamic leader. KTR called on him in Delhi and sought his help for the reopening of the ailing industries. I understand that KTR has great concern for reopening of closed companies in the state and the Centre will look into the proposals, Mishra said. He suggested KTR to conduct a seminar on SMSE in Hyderabad as the same are being conducted in other states. Proposals made by KTR are to set up health clinics at industries, reopen sick units and ensure that small companies not become non performing assets. (NSS)
