KTR seeks 45-acre Rly land for housing scheme, Meets Dattatraya in Delhi

IT & Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao today urged the Centre to give 45 acres of Railway land for the double bedroom housing scheme in the State.

KTR on Monday called on Union Labour & Employment Minister Bandaru Dattatraya in Delhiand discussed about the housing scheme for the poor as well as that of the problems pertaining toTelangana State, including Labour department and others.

Later, the IT minister told the media that he appealed to Dattatraya to take immediate steps to help speed up housing scheme as the State government promised to construct some two lakh houses for the poor. “On behalf of the State government, we have urged Dattatraya to talk to Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and convince him to give 45 acres of Railway land for the housing scheme”, he said. On getting railway land, the State government can take up construction of the prestigious double bedroom houses in a large number, KTR said. Dattatreya, who promised to take steps has also appreciated the State government for speeding up the double bedroom housing scheme through Labour department, he said.

KTR also said they have a plan to reopen the closed factories in the State. Besides seeking steps to reopen Cement Factory and Ramagundam Fertiliser factory, KTR said he urged the Union minister to lend a helping hand to Beedi workers in Siricilla, Nizamabad and North Telangana area. “We have also urged Dattatraya to build 150-bed Hospital for Beedi workers and ESI Hospitals with additional capacity in Hyderabad.
