Leaders pay tributes to PV in Delhi; KTR seeks Bharat Ratna for Rao

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and others today paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao to mark his 96th birth anniversary at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi.

Besides Telagnana leaders of various parties, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh also participated in the PV anniversary and paid tributes to him on the occasion. Along with MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, MPs Vinod Kumar, Congress leader K Jana Reddy and Telangana State Special Representative in Delhi S Veugopala Chary and others offered floral tributes to PV and recalled his services.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister lauded Rao for his services that ushered in new era of financial reforms giving big boost to liberalization policies. PV, son of the soil, rose to become first prime minister to introduce financial reforms across the nation, he said. PV Narasimha Rao strengthened the financial system in the country and paved way for economic liberalization and globalization, Srihari noted. As a statesman, linguist and a visionary, PV served the nation in various capacities, he recalled.

Telangana IT & Industries Minister in a twitter offered rich tributes to PV Narsimha Rao. “Indeed, Rao was a great leader of the soil, who implemented financial reforms”. KTR also said PV is very much eligible for Bharat Ratna award, he tweeted. (NSS)
