At least 60 wounded in huge explosion in Kabul’s diplomatic enclave: Reports

Kabul [Afghanistan]: Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health on Wednesday said that at least 60 persons have been wounded in a suspected car bomb blast in the diplomatic enclave of capital Kabul.

Tolo News reported that the blast was close to the German embassy and added that the explosion happened o 14th Street of the Wazir Akbar Khan diplomatic area of the city.

According to sources, the Indian Embassy has suffered some damage in the form of broken windows due to pressure waves arising from the explosion. Officials of the embassy are, however, safe, the sources added.

Many foreign embassies are located in the area, including the American and Canadian missions.

The Afghan National Security Force (ANSF) has deployed its team in the area for rescue and counter-insurgency operations.
