Mahagatbandhan’s demand for ban of live telecast of PM Modi’s rallies shows fear, says BJP

New Delhi, Oct.12 : Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday said the Mahagatbandhan’s demand for a ban of the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rallies indicates fear of defeat in the Bihar assembly polls.
“RJD, JD (U) and Congress, all are demanding ban on the live telecast of Prime Minister’s rallies and especially on the day when polling takes place,” Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told the media here.

“The demand to ban the live telecast is against the ‘People Representation Act’, which is the constitutional right of the Indian citizens. This shows that the people demanding this are scared of the defeat,” he added.

“The Election Commission has assured us that no ban would be put on the live telecast of rallies,” he further said.

The Mahagathbandhan of the Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress had approached the Election Commission and demanded a ban on live telecast s of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election rallies in Bihar. (ANI)
