Makthal Congress MLA defects to ruling party

After suffering a bitter experience of being slapped by a young TRS MLA Guvvala Balaraju from Achampet during Mahbubnagar Zilla Parishat meeting, Congress Legislator from Makthal in Mahbubnagar, Chittem Rammohan Reddy today joined the ruling party.

Though the defection by Reddy raised many an eyebrow, Rammohan Reddy has been maintaining distance from his Congress party for some time. Rammohan Reddy, younger brother of former Minister DK Aruna, made it to the ruling party for developing his constituency with help of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. KCR welcomed the disgruntled Rammohan Reddy into the TRS fold by offering him traditional pink shawl this morning in the presence of Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy and G Balaraju both from the same district.

It may be said here that Chief Minister embarked on his China tour and took Balaraju along probably to avoid skirmishes with the Congress, who were resorting to persistent criticism against the ruling party for belittling their senior leaders. At the behest of KCR, Lakshma Reddy made fruitful efforts to convince Rammohan Reddy to join the ruling party.

Later, Rammohan Reddy told mediapersons that he joined the ruling party only for development of his Makthal Assembly constituency. “The Chief Minister has promised all help to develop my segment”, he maintained. Rammohan Reddy also said KCR will complete Palamur lift scheme and other pending projects in the district. He also exuded confidence that the State will become golden Telangana in the able leadership of KCR. “We will work together for the State development. Balarju also said leaders from other parties were joining the ruling party for development of their own constituencies. “Unmindful of previous fights, we will work for Palamur development and follow KCR’s leadership for golden Telangana”.
