Man arrested, two juveniles held for stabbing constable

New Delhi: A man has been arrested and two juveniles have been apprehended for allegedly stabbing a 27- year-old Delhi Police constable in a failed robbery bid.

On April 25, Vishram, who was posted at the Kalkaji police station, was waiting for a bus at the Pushp Vihar bus stand when the three accused tried to snatch his cell phone.

When he resisted, they stabbed him with a knife and fled.

With the help of local intelligence and technical surveillance, the police got information about the accused.

One of the youths was identified as Arshad (19). He disclosed the identity of his two associates, both juveniles, who were apprehended.

Police said that the accused had snatched several phones in the last five months.

“The bike used for carrying out the crime and the weapon of offence have also been recovered. A cell phone that they snatched from someone in Neb Sarai the same evening has also been recovered,” Romil Baaniya, DCP (Southeast), said.

The bike used by the accused persons has been found to be stolen from the area of Neb Sarai and culprits were using it by fixing a fake number plate on it, he added.
