Hyderabad: A drunk father set his 6-yr-old old daughter and his pregnant wife on fire after having a petty fight over their unborn child on Monday night at Bibinagar.
Banoth Shankar Naik, a farmer, was furious with his wife Savitri for giving birth to two girls, and desiring a son, Naik used to come home drunk and pick regular fights with her. Savitri was pregnant with their child and Naik suspected the third would be a girl too said the Bibinagar Police.
He set them on fire last night when his wife and their daughter went to sleep. The accused is on the run since the incident.
Police has launched a man hunt for Naik and also registered a Murder case against him.
