Man who shot wife’s paramour arrested

New Delhi: A man who had allegedly shot dead his wife’s friend suspecting the duo of having an illicit relationship, has been arrested, police said today.

The accused, identified as Sultan, was apprehended from Shastri Park area yesterday. He has been booked for murder and the police have also recovered a country-made pistol from his possession, DCP (East) B S Gurjar said.

According to the police, Sultan, who is a father of five children, aged between eight and 15 years, had allegedly also thrashed his wife on September 13, accusing her of having an extra-marital affair with her friend Naseer, following which the woman left him and started living at her friend’s house.

Sultan kept insisting Naseer that he should persuade his wife to return home. And when he allegedly refused, Naseer was shot dead allegedly by Sultan on November 21 evening in Gandhi Nagar.
