Man Vs Machine: Now a robotic receptionist at HDFC bank

New Delhi: HDFC is likely to welcome its customers with robotic receptionist in some of its HDFC bank’s branches as the country’s second largest sector lender tries to match Japanese players that have launch humanoids.

According to the news published in The Times of India, Tokyo-Mitsubishi, taking its cue which launched a robot and named it as ‘Nao’ last year.

HDFC bank has launched the ‘Project AI’, where the first robot was ready to implement. Its deployment plan was to start first in Mumbai branch, certainly one do not deal with too many senior citizens, who need personalized service.

The HDFC bank’s first robot will functions only as a receptionist, distinct pepper which analyses customer behavior and gives various services to the customers.

Sources said, it will greet a person entering the branch with options such as cash withdrawal or deposit, forex, fixed deposits and Demat services displaying on the screen. Once the customer punches in the selection, a layout of the branch will appear on the screen with a “Take me there” option, “If someone has inquired about a home loan through the website, the robot will generate the information when he visits the branch the next time and provide options.”
