Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, while addressing a press conference said, PM Modi, can only pull Kashmir out of this mess.
“Hamein daldal se agar koi bahar nikal sakta hai to, woh Modi hain (If anyone can pull us out of this quicksand, it is Modi),” the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief said.”Whatever decision he (Modi) will take, the nation would support him,” Mufti added, reported India today.
While appreciating PM Modi’s move of visiting Pakistan, she said, “It was him who visited Pakistan during heightened tensions between the two countries.”
Kashmir again has come into violence after clashes happened on April 15 between security forces and college students at a Pulwama college.
She criticised former PM Manmohan Singh and said, “Before him (Modi), a Prime Minister had also desired to go to Pakistan for over ten years. He wanted to see his home there,” she said.
“He also would have tried to end the confrontation between the two countries and bring J&K out of this unfortunate situation, but he had no courage to do that,” she added.
Mehbooba said that her government is trying to maintain peace in the valley but there are some anti elements who hinder the path. She also said that UPA could not do anything in their regime claiming “everything is peaceful and there is no need to do anything further.”
