Praising the efforts of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in taking forward the nation in the fields of science and technology, Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday alleged that Narendra Modi led NDA Government was demonizing the Nehru-Gandhi family in the name of Augusta Westland deal.
He said that it was a created controversy to carry out a smear campaign against the Congress leadership. He was speaking at the “Anti-Terrorism Day” party meeting at Qutbullahpur in city.
Taking serious objections to the encouragement of defection by ruling TRS government in the state, he alleged that TRS was buying the elected leaders from other parties with stashed black money. Predicting that Congress would form a government in Centre as well as in the state in the next general elections, he said that people would support the Congress.
AICC secretary R C Kuntia on this occasion said that Rajiv Gandhi was an ideal for the 21st Century youth. The people of nation are today using social media, internet facilities and others only due to the pioneering efforts of late Prime Minister Rajive Gandhi, he said. He said that Congress government in the past has taken decisions only in favor of people but not for the party.
Congress was never bothered about saving the interests of its own like in the case of giving Telangana and decisions in Assam, he said. Launching a direct attack on Narendra Modi he said that during the period of Rajiv Gandhi India was made a friendly nation across the region and globe while by virtue of Modi visiting different countries, friendly nations like Nepal and Sri Lanka are now looking towards other countries.
