Modi struck only after settling NDA assets: CPI

Welcoming the Centre’s decision cancelling Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes to check black money in the State, CPI leader K Narayana said the Prime Minister has announced the decision of cancellation of big notes only after settling their (NDA) assets (black money). It was cleared with the letter to the Prime Minister by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu a month ago and sudden announcement of the Prime Minister reveals the fact that they settled their black assets already.

Speaking to the media at CPI office here on Thursday, Narayana opined that the black money will not come out only with this decision. “The black money control is possible only with the looting of the corporate companies”, he said. He said the small time businessmen and poor people would be affected seriously and benefit big malls and business organisations. The people were not in a position to attend weddings and celebrations with the cancellation of big notes, he said and asked the Centre to give some more time keeping woes of the people in view. (NSS)
