Mother charged for molesting step-daughter

Mumbai: A 46 year old has been registered under a molestation case of her step-daughter. A special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act court recently rejected the pre arrest bail of this mother.

A senior official of Kalachowkie police station said a charge sheet will be filed against the woman who was later granted relief by the Bombay high court.

The victim lived with her step mother, father and a brother at the time of incident. She told her age as 17 at the time this incident took place.

The girl said that the stepmother had first touched her inappropriately in 2013. However, in February this year, the teenager alleged that the accused forcefully opened the bathroom door, dragged her out in the nude, groped her and began to utter profanities. On March 15, the victim lodged an FIR.

However the woman in her anticipatory bail plea alleged that a false case has been filed against her as a revenge as she had filed a domestic violence case against her husband, the victim’s father.

The court however, said that the nature of allegations could not be said to be an outcome of domestic violence.
