Srinagar: Jankinath (84) who was a Kashmiri Pandit died in Malwaran Village of Kalgam District near Srinagar in Kashimir. He was the only Kashmiri who refused to migrate from his native place when all the Kashmiri Pandit had run away from Kashmir Valley in 1990. He had decided to live with 5000 Muslims. He had retired from Govt. service in 1990. He had been ailing for the past 6 years. His neighbors used to take care of him. When the news of his death broke out, the entire village became sad. A local villager, Gollu Mohammed Ali performed the last rites of Jankinath. He said that Jankinath was like his brother. His neighbors collected wood for cremating his dead body. It is the best example of communal harmony.
