Muslim representation in TRS govt. likely to increase

Hyderabad: Muslim representation in ruling TRS will increase next month and Muslim representation in KCR cabinet is likely to increase from present one to two.

By-election to the Legislative Council seat, which remained vacant after the resignation of T Nageswara Rao, will be held on October 17. With the ruling TRS having absolute majority, the party is likely to wrest the seat. As the Chief Minister Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had already announced the candidature of former minister and senior leader Mohammed Fareeduddin, his election for MLC seat remained nothing but a formality. This will increase number of Muslim politburo members in TRS. Party leaders believe that Chief Minister may increase Muslim representation in his cabinet too.

As soon as the notification for by-elections was released, several leaders and activists congratulated Fareeduddin in advance. Fareeduddin emerged as prominent minority leader in the state during Congress government. He served as minister in YSR cabinet. After formation of Telangana, Fareeduddin joined TRS. It is hoped that keeping in view his experience in administration CM plans to give him important portfolio.
