Muslim woman told to remove black, ‘terrorist-looking’ hijab in UK

London: A woman at the United Kingdom Tribunal has made serious allegations of religious discrimination against her company. According to the complaint, her employers ordered her to remove her black hijab in office as it indicated signs of terrorist affiliation.

The estate agent had been working for Harvey Dean in Bury, Greater Manchester, for about a year. The complaint filed in the Manchester Tribunal stated that they ordered her to change the colour of her hijab (female). The woman claimed in her complaint, “It will be in the company’s interest to change the colour of your hijab,” reports News 24.

She said that she refused her employers’ orders during a phone call as well. A meeting held the following day with the male manager, who had allegedly brought coloured hijabs into the office for her to change into.

The woman has claimed that there was no hearing on her complaint in the office of which she has complained to the Tribunal. The complaint also mentions that the conduct carried out by the company officials was extremely abusive, hostile and aggressive, and is seeking a written admission that she was subjected to unlawful discrimination.
