Muslims welcome Lindsay Lohan in Islam soon after her ‘Salaam’ on Instagram

Hollywood actress Lohan yet again, in the media limelight after her Instagram bio says “Alaikum salam” triggering speculations that she has converted to Islam.

“Alaikum Salaam” is an Islamic greeting that translates to “and unto you peace” in Arabic.

The Mean Girls star has erased all her previous posts on Instagram and Twitter and has minimal interactions on Facebook.

Muslims around the world excitedly welcomed her on Twitter with Alhamdulillah (“Praise be to God”), Mashallah (“God has Willed it”) and Subhanallah (“Glory be to God”).

The 30-year-old is no stranger to controversy and has been vocal about her interest in Islam.

In the past, Lohan received immense backlash after photographs of her holding a copy of the Holy Quran on the streets of New York made rounds on the internet.

“They crucified me for it in America,” Lohan said. “They made me seem like Satan. I was a bad person for holding that Quran.”

When she moved to London, she said one of her Saudi friend gave her the Quran she was pictured holding.

“My very close friends, who have been there for me a lot, in London are Saudi and they gave me the Quran and I brought it to New York because I was learning,” she revealed on Turkish TV show Haber Turk.

“The Quran opened doors for me to experience spiritually, to find another true meaning. This is who I am.”
