Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today held a meeting with Members of Parliament of the Telugu Desam party on the strategy to be adopted in the forthcoming winter sessions of Parliament.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister discussed on the various aspects provided in special package. He appealed to the MP’s that pressure should be mounted on the Centre on according legal sanctity to the special package. He asked the members of Parliament to ensure legal sanctity to the special
package in the upcoming Parliament session. He also asked the MPs to meet BJP representatives and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely and enquire about the status and progress of according legal sanctity to the special package. The Chief Minister said the focus of the MPs must be on getting maximum benefits to the State during the winter
sessions of Parliament.
He directed the MPs to get clarity on the credit to be provided by NABARD for the Polavaram project in a week’s time. He also said the MPs should put pressure on the Centre to fulfill all promises made
under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. He also asked them to pressurise the Centre for creating Visakhapatnam railway zone and for increasing number of Assembly constituencies in the State, said the Chief Minister.
Chandrababu Naidu directed the MPs to raise the inadequacies in the AP Reorganization Act. Legal sanctity to the special package will help in creating
confidence among the people in the State, said the Chief Minister. Welcoming the decision to demonetize Rs 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes as
a positive one, the Chief Minister said precautionary measures should have been taken to minimise difficulties to the public. To curtail the flow of black money, public must be encouraged towards
electronic currency.
The Centre must take adequate steps to increase online transactions, said the Chief Minister. He added that those countries with lower education levels and less development than our country are a head of us in using mobile banking
services. To fulfill the dream of digital India usage of digital currency needs to be encouraged, said the CM. The Centre must consider providing swipe machines to traders and abolish transaction cost for online banking and MPs must bring pressure on the Centre for the same, he added. (NSS)
