Nayani expresses concern over suicides by police personnel

Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy has expressed deep concern over the incidents of suicide by some police officials.

 Addressing the police conference at HICC on Friday, the Home Minister said that in recent past some incidents have occurred wherein police officials have committed suicide by shooting themselves with service revolvers. He advised all the police officials not to work under any kind of pressure. He said the officials should consult their seniors if they feel any kind of work pressure while performing their duties. He asked the top officials to ensure that no police personnel commit suicide under any circumstances.

The Home Minister said that the crime rate in Hyderabad has come down due to the installation of CC cameras at various places. He asked the officials to create awareness among the people about cyber crimes. He said that the State Government was providing required funds to strengthen the police department. He said police stations were being constructed on par with corporate offices. He claimed that there has been a major behavioral change in the police department during the last three years. (INN)
