Next Rail budget to give more to southern states: Suresh Prabhu

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today promised to focus on Southern States in next railway budget and provide improved rail facilities to the passengers.

At a program here along with Union labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Deputy Chief Minister Mahamood Ali, Ministers Padma Rao Goud, P Mahender Reddy, BJP State President Dr K Lakshman at Secunderabad Railway Station and officials, Suresh Prabhu formally launched two new rails of Hyderabad-Gulbarga and Kajipet-Mumbai weekly and remotely started two lifts at Nizamabad railway station. Speaking on the occasion the railway minister stated that the next Rail budget will allocate more funds for Telangana, AP and other southern states. He said that Hyderabadis have emotional touch with Gulbarga as it was the part of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh state.

The railway ministry took more efforts to provide improved amenities for rail passengers in two previous budgets he said adding that focus will be on cargo for more revenue. Efforts will be made to expand MMTS to Shamshabad International Airport and set up a green field terminal at Charlapally and Nagulapalli. (NSS)
