Pratapgarh: A notorious criminal, lodged in Mumbai jail, fled from police custody while he was being brought here in connection with a court case this evening.
Nasrat Ali, resident of Tiwaripur police station area, was brought by a six-member Mumbai team for being produced in the court of the ACJM in connection with a case, ASP Neeraj Pandey said.
He fled from the custody of the Mumbai team while he was being taken to the court, the ASP said, adding that a case has been lodged and hunt was on for the accused.
He was arrested in Mumbai in connection with a murder there.
