Oppn stalling growth, projects: Harish complains

Leaders of the Opposition parties coming in the way of projects will be chased away, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today warned. While the government takes up a projects on war-footing, the Opposition was causing hurdles, he charged.

Along with Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy, Harish Rao participated in some developmental programs followed by a TRS constituency program at Aleru in Nalgonda district wherein a woman leader Sumalatha took over as Agriculture Market Committee chairperson.

Speaking on the occasion Harish Rao fumed at the Congress and Telugu Desam parties for trying to create problems and confusion among people on the projects. “The people should be cautious that the Opposition was trying to get mileage by making continuous efforts to stalling the works”, he said. The minister criticized TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy for his comments on Mallannasagar project. “We will convince the affected people through better compensation for completing this project aimed at irrigating crops in four districts. Uttam has no right to talk on the projects,” he said. About 13,000 acres in 13 villages submerged with Pulichintala and the previous government gave Rs 1 lakh compensation to the affected people. The Opposition could not digest the development and coming in the way of the works of the projects, he added.

Despite the criticism, the government will go as usual to complete the projects to turn the agriculture lands into green belt area and increase productivity, he claimed. Jagadish Reddy said the projects will help boost the agriculture activity as the government was giving nine-hour power supply. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was committed for the speedy completion of the projects, he added. (NSS)
