Mumbai: After the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) ultimatum to beat up Pakistani artists if they didn’t leave India, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has reportedly left India.
The threat comes at a time of heightened tensions between the two nations after recent terror attack in Uri in which four terrorists killed 18 Army personnel at an Army camp.
According to Hindustan Times reports, the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ who was in India until recently, left the country and is now planning to extend his stay in Pakistan.
MNS has particularly targeted the promotions of Fawad Khan’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ claiming that they wouldn’t allow the release of the film, slated for Diwali.
While a source from Karan Johar’s production house, who wished not to be named said, “Fawad was not required here as he has finished all his work on the film. He went beack to Pakistan as his wife is due to deliver their second child in September.”
Although Mumbai Police promised protection to Pakistani artists, looks like they don’t want to take any chances.
