Panel recommends one year suspension for misbehaviour in TS Assembly

Hyderabad: The Rules Committee of Telangana State Legislative Assembly has recommended suspension for one year for members if they disrupt the address by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan during the forthcoming budget session.

The Rules Committee met in the Assembly premises on Monday under the chairmanship of Speaker S. Madhusudan Chary. Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Legislative Affairs Minister T. Harish Rao, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, BJP floor leader Dr. K. Lakshman and TDP MLA Vivek Goud were also present in the meeting. No member from the Congress party attended the meeting.

According to sources, the Committee members proposed stern action against those who exhibit unruly behaviour during the budget session, which is likely to begin from March 10. It was also decided not to allow any kind of protest in the House, especially during Question Hour. They were of the opinion that the House should be run smoothly without any interruptions. The budget session is likely to be held in two spells – 10 AM to 2 PM & 4 PM to 7 PM on all working days.

The Protocol Committee of the Assembly is also likely to be constituted within a week. (INN)
