Paytm to invest in marketing Make-In-India products, targets 5000 manufacturers

New Delhi : India’s largest mobile commerce platform, Paytm has announced its plan to set up a dedicated section on its website and mobile app for the marketing of Make-In-India products.

The company aims to invest a whopping amount of Rs. 10 crore towards marketing of items made in the country targeting 5,000 manufacturers by the end of the year. The products in the section will include mobile phones, clothes to home furnishings.

“Today, the quality of products being manufactured in India is at par with anything produced across the globe. By focusing on marketing these goods and setting up a dedicated section for them, we hope to give a solid boost to Indian-origin items,” said Vice President at Paytm, Sudhanshu Gupta.

“Bolstering the business of small and medium retailers within the country is core to our brand DNA and is aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision for the ‘Make in India’ programme. As a part of this programme we will be working very closely with manufacturers in terms of on-boarding and handholding them to manage and grow their online business,” added Gupta.

In its constant endeavor to support indigenous manufacturers and producers of goods, last month, Paytm set up a special team to assist and advise its growing merchant base, Paytm Force.

The team comprises over 3,000 experienced and certified e-commerce specialists who offer end-to-end services to merchants including catalogue creation, order fulfillment, complete account management and query resolution. The idea is to help sellers realise their full potential and expand their business with Paytm. (ANI)
