Ponnala denies KCR comments

Congress leader and former Irrigation Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah has made it clear that the Congress never said previous Congress government had inked an agreement with the Maharashtra government on Thammidihatti’s height at 152 meters.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Ponnala said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who shared power in the State and Central governments then, was not aware of the irrigation projects then. He questioned the Chief Minister as to why he did not conduct all-party meeting before entering into an agreement with the Maharashtra Government. He said the Congress leaders would not be afraid of TRS government if they threatened in the name of cases. (NSS)
