Hyderabad: According to a press note issued by University of Hyderabad, Prof. Muzaffar Ali Shahmiri, Head of the Dept. of Urdu and Dean, School of Humanities of HCU is appointed as the founder Vice Chancellor of the newly formed Dr. Abdul Haq Urdu University, Kurnool, A.P.
Dept. of Higher Education of Govt. of A.P. has approved this appointment for four years.
Prof. Muzaffar completed his high school education from ZP High School, Kadiri, Anantapur, AP. He completed his graduation with History, Philosophy and Urdu literature. He obtained his master’s degree in Urdu from Sri Venkateshwara University, Tirupati, Chittor, A.P.
He got his Ph.D. in Urdu from University of Hyderabad in 1989. His areas of interest are Urdu poetry, Classical Urdu literature, Urdu drama, Contemporary Urdu prose, poetry and criticism.
