I have proof that my son died of pellet injuries, says Kulgam youth’s father

Kulgam: The father of slain Kulgam youth Waseem Muhammad Thokar Wednesday refuted the police claim that the death of his son was natural. Haji Mushtaq Ahmed said that he has ample proofs to prove that his son Waseem died due to pellet injuries.

Pertinently, Waseem Muhammad Tokhar (24) an ambulance driver by profession died on Tuesday morning at his home in Shouch village in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The family claimed that Waseem had suffered serious pellet injuries on September 7 last year when forces used force to foil ‘Marhama Chalo’ call.

Earlier, Police in a handout said that, “Waseem was found unconscious at Baitul Hilal Yateem foundation Chawalgam and was brought to District hospital Kulgam by his friends where doctors declared him brought dead.”

Refuting the police claim, the father of the slain youth said that he has all the prescriptions of doctors of different hospitals who treated his son and they all prove that Waseem had received pellet injuries.

“I will show him his X-rays and prescriptions and in fact a few days back a private clinic at Anantnag had conducted an X-ray of his pellet wounds,” he said.

Kulgam police is ascertaining facts about cause of the death of Waseem and people are advised not to fall prey to the vested interests.”
