Ragging incident in Kukatpally JNTU-H

A ragging incident took place in Kukatpally JNTU-H came to light lately today.

Responding on a complaint lodged by the victim, college principal appointed an inquiry committee into it. According to victim, victim named Raghavendra, belongs to Wanaparthy district, pursuing his civil engineering first year. On Monday night, senior students—Nirbhay and Saisurya Teja asked the victim to come to their hostel Manjeera. Raghavendra didn’t turn up.

On Tuesday night, the senior students came to Kinnera Hostel, where the victim was staying, and taken Raghavendra along with him to their hostel Manjeera and beaten him left and right. While knowing the incident, the student unions—TRSV and Telangana Jagruthi staged an agitation demanding the principal to initiate action against the students resorted to ragging against Raghavendra. On the other hand, the police revealed that they didn’t receive any complaint from the victim or from JNTU-H. (NSS)
