Rajender flays Shah’s comments

Hyderabad: Finance Minister Etala Rajender today lashed out at the BJP national president Amit Shah’s comments against the TRS Government at Suryapet public meeting in Nalgonda district on Friday evening.

Speaking to the media at the TRS Legislature Party office here on Saturday, Rajender brushed aside the comments of Shah as “mere lies”. Eatala said the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre did nothing for Telangana State and did not give funds it should get, he bemoaned.

The Finance Minister expressed surprise over Shah’s criticis of the Telangana government when Prime Minister Modi and many other States appreciated various welfare schemes being implemented by TRS government. This kind of criticism can be attributed to the deliberate attempts to malign and double standards of Amit Shah, he said. Amith Shah’s comments are “immature and purely political” which the people and government are not ready to accept, he said. The Modi Government gave Telangana only Rs 36,000 crore so far, he pointed out. Rajender also threw a challenge to prove under what heads the Centre gave funds to the Telangana State. During 2014-15, the Centre gave “us” Rs 15,306 crore, he added.

Rajender stated that the States will not resort to beg with the Centre for funds and instead make payments of thousands of crores through various taxes. The two-year rule of the BJP Government should come into reality and check if it got people support, he said, adding that the Telangana people are with KCR and the government. (NSS)
