Raza Murad backs Rishi, asks why all airports after politicians

New Delhi : Bollywood actor Raza Murad has backed his counterpart Rishi Kapoor’s recent criticism of the Congress and questioned as to why the monuments and airports in the country have been named only after politicians.

Murad said Rishi Kapoor has every right to speak his mind.

“Rishi Kapoor is a free citizen and has every right to express his mind. I completely agree with him.Why all airports are being named after politicians? There are many like Raj Kapoor, Shaami Kapoor who have contributed a lot for the country, he told ANI.

The 65-year-old actor added that Kashmir became known to the world only because of Shaami Kapoor’s tireless efforts.

“Then why Srinagar airport can’t be named after him,” he said.

Adding on this, he said hockey legendary Major Dhyan Chand has contributed so much then why can’t the Gwalior airport be named after him.

“Those who are in power, they always name the roads, airports and institutions after their names. Now, this should be changed.” Murad said.

Also, filmmaker Ashok Pandit extended his support to Rishi, saying whatever the 63-year-old actor has said is true.

“I support Rishi Kapoor Ji. I feel whatever he said is very true. During the rule of Congress, we found no difference between them and the British Raj,” he said.

Raza ‘s comments came on the backdrop of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor’s series of tweets where he slammed the grand old Party and the Gandhi family for keeping the names of every roadway and railways after them.

“Change Gandhi family assets named by Congress.Bandra/Worli Sea Link to Lata Mangeshkar or JRD Tata link road. Baap ka maal samjh rakha tha ?” he wrote.

“If roads in Delhi can be changed why not Congress assets/property ke naam? Was in Chandigarh wahan bhi Rajeev Gandhi assets? Socho? Why?” the actor added.

The veteran actor then asked for suggestion from people on whether the names can be after film personalities like Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Ashok Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and others. (ANI)
